Jealousy

– A brief personal reflection –

How many times have we felt this emotion, in smallest or in its very strong presence?
How many times have we felt how negative and how destroying its effects are on us?
And how many (perhaps even more) times have we wished if we could become free of it, if we could be stronger, or whatever, just not to feel it, and yet, at the same time failed to succeed to overcome the reaction in the situation.

We all know, it does not matter what the type of the situation is, it could be something job related, new colleague that knows a job better than us, so he/she may pose some kind of threat to us (or at least that is how we perceive it), or - of course, so-called "love"-related, when we see a potential concurrence in a new or better looking or whatever better, third.

Especially all of this, if "our" partner would not seem to react on the certain way which would help us feeling happy and secure. Was there then a feeling of fear, a feeling of insecurity, a feeling of defeat, a feeling of even anger, righteous one of course from our point of view, often, too often in dealing with it we would create such a drama just that the attention of the other comes to us again, even in this negative way, pulling, pushing, controlling, how ugly all this would be for even our own eyes if we would be looking from the outside, we also witnessed this probably not just once in our lifetime in stories of others and..

After all our experience and knowledge as a humankind, through all these aeons and decades and centuries of civilized history, yet, even today, even some very educated people, calling themselves psychologists are advising that a little jealousy is good in relationship, "showing it is alive and healthy", even they cannot imagine the world where jealousy would be not, and where we could live as free and loving, caring beings in our full potential as we all have it in ourselves. How is that we still do not know where this feeling or rather "state of being" is coming from, and how we can live free from it's claws.

What is the root of it? May my love relationship save its exclusivity and get rid of the possessiveness which is behind jealousy? Because behind jealousy is possessiveness, and behind that - fear of losing of something that I believe is "mine", or at least should be mine, because it "means" so much to me and because somehow that "possession" adds a value to me as well.. What has this to do with love?

I believe you'll agree, very little. I’d say, almost or even nothing.

In the root of jealousy is not the fear only. It is also - or at the very beginning of it - the un-knowledge of our own self. Of our own wishes, desires, potentials; restriction that we from whatever reason place on our own life (through which we also then feel to have "right" to control the other), so that in the end we DO NOT live our own life fully but to-some-extent only; that we are suppressed (by us and us only), and feeling miserable , somewhere deep deep down in ourselves we actually KNOW that we have killed our true being, that we are not allowed to explore it, to taste it, to feel it, to breathe it, to give it, to share it. We have created our own prison, in which we had to find a substitute for "freedom" and direct experience of life, by "possessing of another". That the feeling of possession gives us the feeling of life which we are not living, calling it all "love", hiding our misery from everybody, and putting the pink shiny paper of "relationship" around it.

All because we do not feel free to be who we really are. To give ourselves the freedom to explore, to search, to look for what we really are. Wherever it may take us. We close ourselves in a pre-formed picture of "how-things-should-look-like", completely unaware that in that moment, it does not matter at all that we have done it "voluntarily" and alone to ourselves; we actually stop to live, we die, we are dead. Is it possible for a human being to be really happy in this arrangement?

I believe not. All experiences of so-called happiness in this kind of arrangement are illusory, temporary, substitutes for the real and full happiness. And they depend on the other.

So. Yes. There is a good news. Hopefully not news for some or many. But let me say it.

In our own freedom, to be who we really are, fully, authentically, lies the cure for jealousy.

Yes, we will have to let go of possessions. But be aware that no man had or ever will "belong" to us. So, we have to leave the very idea of it. And to accept that we are on our own. If we want to find out what real love is, what does that word mean in its very core, and to live on daily basis in the truth that we find, then, we have no choice but to turn our look inside, to learn to let go and to know that this means no end of the world, but the beginning of life.

Life, as it is, in all its beauty and glory.

PS. If we try to do so, in giving ourselves freedom to be who we are, we will become aware, in such a way that we cannot hide from the truth of that fact, that we will have no longer that “right” to keep the other person or whatever possession it is, in our prison with us, that we will have to give the same freedom to the other. And there lies the difficulty, because, once we give the real freedom to other person, that person may leave us and go away. But the choice is there.

True love needs no jail bars. And love within the bars is love not. It is anything but love. A contract, a comfort, however you name it.

We may choose that as well. But let us not expect (in that instance) that we may ever be fully and totally happy, peaceful and mighty, beautiful, as human beings may be or are in its essence. Jealousy is simply a part of the package, and it suffocates the true being.

But once, sooner or later, we will cross the bridge. We will become tired of fight, and we will feel such yearning for freedom that the invisible cuffs will no longer be able to hold us there.

And we will find what we were looking for.

Then, and just then, we may give our hand to the other in the sublimity of true Love.

Kosovo: Can You Imagine?

Kosovo | Can you Imagine?, Косово | Можете ли да замислите? from Владимир Чановић on Vimeo.

http://www.kosovo-film.com/

Kosovo: Can You Imagine? is a documentary film by Canadian filmmaker Boris Malagurski, about the Serbs that live in Kosovo and the lack of human rights that they have today, in the 21st century.

Most of the Kosovo Serbs have been ethnically cleansed by the Albanians who make up the majority of Kosovo.

Kosovo has been under UN administration since 1999 when NATO bombed Serbia for 78 days to halt a crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatism in its province of Kosovo.

In the years following the war, thousands of Serbs were expelled from their homes, kidnapped and killed. Their houses, cultural and religious sites were burned and destroyed.

Kosovo for the Serbs is what Jerusalem is for the Jewish people. It is the cradle of their statehood, culture and religion. Most of the important Serbian Christian Orthodox monasteries are in Kosovo.

Today, Serbs still have a deep spiritual and traditional connection to Kosovo, a land which is being cleansed of everything Serbian.

Most of the Kosovo Serbs are internally displaced, some of them live in small containter camps, in ghettos, all this in the heart of Europe in the 21st century.

We follow the stories of several Serbs who have fell victim to a nationalist and irredentist ideology that has a goal of creating a pure Albanian state of "Kosova" ("Kosovo" in Albanian)

Serbs in Kosovo have no basic human rights. You will be shocked to learn which atrocities they have to face each day.

TO LIVE WITHOUT JEALOUSY

I found it on the net and liked it :)..

IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE WITHOUT JEALOUSY UNLESS ONE IS ENLIGHTENED?

- It is possible. If you are enlightened then the question of jealousy does not arise at all; then it is impossible to have jealousy. Before enlightenment it is possible to live without jealousy. You just have to look into the causes of jealousy.

What makes you jealous? -- possessiveness. Jealousy itself is not the root. You love a woman, you love a man; you want to possess the man or the woman just out of fear that perhaps tomorrow he may move with somebody else. The fear of tomorrow destroys your today, and it is a vicious circle. If every day is destroyed because of the fear of tomorrow, sooner or later the man is going to look for some other woman because you are just a pain in the neck. And when he starts looking for another woman or starts moving with another woman, you think your jealousy has proved right. In fact it is your jealousy that has created the whole thing.

So the first thing to remember is: Don't be bothered about tomorrows; today is enough. Somebody loves you... let this be a day of joy, a day of celebration. Be so totally in love today that your totality and your love will be enough for the man not to move away from you. Your jealousy will move him away; only your love can keep him with you. His jealousy will move you away; his love can keep you with him.

Don't think of tomorrow. The moment you think of tomorrow your living today remains half-hearted. Just live today, and leave tomorrow, it will take its own course. And remember one thing, that if today has been such a beauty of experience, such a blessing -- out of today is born tomorrow, so why be worried about it?
If some day the man you have loved, the woman you have loved finds somebody else -- it is simply human to be happy, but your woman is happy with somebody else -- it does not make any difference whether she is happy with you or happy with somebody else, she is happy. And if you love her so much how can you destroy her happiness?

A real love will always be happy if the partner feels joyous with somebody else. In this situation -- when a woman is with somebody else, and you are still happy and you are still grateful to the woman and you still tell the woman, "You have absolute freedom; just be totally happy, that is my happiness. With whom you are happy is insignificant, what is significant is your happiness" -- my feeling is that she cannot remain away from you for long, she will be back. Who can leave such a man or such a woman?

Your jealousy destroys everything.
Your possessiveness destroys everything.

Before enlightenment you have to understand that what you are gaining out of jealousy you are burning in the fire: the more you become jealous and angry and hateful, the more you are throwing the other person far away from you. It is simple arithmetic that it is not going to help; you are destroying the same thing that you want to preserve.
It is simply idiotic -- it is German!

Just try to understand a simple fact that human beings are human beings. Everybody gets bored with the same person once in a while. Be factual; don't live in fictions. Everybody gets fed up with the same person once in a while. That does not mean that his love has stopped; it simply means a little change is needed. It is good for his health, it is good for your health. You both need a little holiday from each other. Why not do it consciously, "We are feeling stuck. What about having a one-week holiday? I love you, you love me; that is so certain that there is no fear."

My own experience is that after one day's holiday you will fall in love with each other on a higher and deeper level, because now you will see how much you love each other: you cannot even see the sadness that comes naturally by living together. Don't possess each other. Keep the freedom intact so that you don't interfere in each other's private world and you respect the dignity of the other person.

Once this is felt, once in a while you may go on separate holidays, come back again and there will be no need to be worried. You will be surprised that when your woman comes back to you after living with some other man for seven days, and you come back to your woman after living with some other woman for seven days, you both have learned some new things. You can have another honeymoon again. You are new and fresh, and you have learned new tricks. And it is always good to have fresh experiences, enrichment.
It is not that you need enlightenment and only then jealousy will disappear; you only need human understanding, intelligence, and jealousy will disappear.

So don't wait for enlightenment! I know many sannyasins are waiting for enlightenment, and meanwhile being as much jealous as possible, because after enlightenment you cannot!

Your Spread
Situation

Challenges/ Opportunities

Spread Information:
The full Celtic Cross reading is a terrific bargain for a multi-faceted, in-depth look at your life and prospects.

The Celtic Cross Spread is a bonafide emblem of Tarot. It is generally regarded as a standard "consultation" spread in the Tarot reader trade, which is attested to by the number of variations of it which are to be found in the pages of contemporary Tarot manuals. The Celtic Cross spread can give you valuable insight into several areas of your life, and how those parts interact within you.

Possessing eleven positions with occasional "extras" at the end, the Celtic Cross offers enough positions to represent relatively complex situations. Within the wheel-shaped part of the spread is a horizontal axis which represents the flow of outer events from recent past through the present to the near future.

The other central axis arises out of one's personal history, through the present moment, to focus on one's Mission or Higher Power. The self and the issues of the moment are at the center of the spread.

The column to the right of the Wheel is called the Staff, which can also be thought of as a ladder. The ideas and advice in this part lift one from the plane of dilemma to a higher plane of resolution. Don't make the mistake of viewing the Past cards as irrelevant to the present or future!

Your Interpretations

Self: Five of Cups

© Tarot.com

POSITIONAL (MAIN) MEANING
Past patterns that once confused you can be overcome; take action to change them.

The card in the Self position reveals aspects of how you perceive yourself right now.

When the Five of Cups is in this position, you are assessing the mixed messages you received in the past about relationships, an emotional legacy of highs and lows which you could be inclined to repeat. Every family creates an emotional climate that ultimately shapes the character and style of each child.

Early confusion about whether you were loved or wanted colors how you react to and interpret people in your present life. The Five of Cups suggests that you may be agonizing over a pattern from the "bad old days" which is arising in your present life. Don't let yourself simply sink into feeling miserable. Get up and try to make it right again.

GENERAL MEANING
The Five of this suit traditionally portrays the mess that is left after an emotional upheaval, such as a tantrum or fit of rage. Consequences run the gamut from a hangover and lost wages, to abuse and ruined relationships.

This card is also sometimes called Inheritance, suggesting the cross-generational legacy of such tragedies. Violent family patterns magnified to a much larger scale can become war.

MEANING of POSITION
The card in the Self position reveals aspects of how you perceive yourself right now.

The Self position represents your personal identity in the Now -- the only real point of power. It's not about you in an objective sense, but rather a reflection of how you perceive yourself. It points to an aspect of your self-image, outside of how others might see you.

Consider the meaning of the card that lands here in light of your inner experience, your personal perspective about yourself and the issues you bring to this reading. Who are you? What kind of attitude or energies are affecting you right now? What do you want? It's not always easy to know yourself. Clarity about values and roles is essential for skillful behavior. Values evolve, but don't be too attached to roles -- they can change.

Your attitude is of primary importance here because, more than anything, it supports a capacity for happiness, success and love. How are you contending with fears that arise? What aspect of yourself is in need of development here? Is there any attitude that may be in need of change?

The way you perceive yourself may prove to be accurate or inadequate as the reading unfolds. You may want to take a second look at this position at the end of the spread.

Situation: Ten of Swords

© Tarot.com

POSITIONAL (MAIN) MEANING
Since you are unable to triumph over forces larger than yourself, practice non-resistance to the energies around you.

The card that lands in the Situation position refers to social or circumstantial factors which could be affecting your life at this time.

When the Ten of Swords is in this position, the anticipated goal appears to have been aborted. Normalcy may have been disrupted and replaced with a certain amount of chaos. Despite appearances, all is not lost for you or your loved ones. It is, however, a shakeup of the prevailing order. You may be in no position to repair the situation because forces larger than you could be dominant right now.

If it seems like you have no control over the outcome, why spend energy trying? Perhaps all you can do is wait things out. Rely on the good sense nature gave you and save any remaining energy for a new start later on. Cut your losses and detach yourself from circumstances. If you do so, you might not have to go down with the ship.

GENERAL MEANING
The Ten of this suit represents finality, the end of something. As is easy to grasp from the picture in many decks, there is no hope for revival here. A limit has been reached, a line has been crossed and there is no turning back. In some situations this may be felt as a tragic loss, but it often brings with it a paradoxical sense of release and closure. The waiting and wondering are over. There is no more ambiguity. You can rightly let go and move on, as there is no more progress to be made here.

Emotionally and psychologically, this card appears when one is exhausted and used up, burnt out by the effort of caring and responding and trying to make a difference. When a person feels this way, they have reached burnout and can no longer be held responsible for anything, and therefore can be forgiven for caving in or ceding the fight. The simple instructions are: "Go no further along these lines!"

MEANING of POSITION
The card that lands in the Situation position refers to social or circumstantial factors which could be affecting your life at this time.

The Situation position provides a general context for your question -- the set and setting, the politics, whatever is going on around you that might be impacting the situation or issue you are consulting the Tarot about. This card could apply to a specific drama or dilemma that you are now confronted with.

Consider this card in light of the issues, people, and forces shaping your environment, your current circumstances. This position also refers to that which is true from the start -- i.e. the hand you were dealt. Consider the set of influences that surround you and affect your personal life. Take a look at how you have been wandering down your chosen path. Our experience is naturally affected by external factors and cycles, the ups and downs of the times. This card can offer clues as to skillful adjustments you might make.

Challenges/ Opportunities: The Devil

© Tarot.com

POSITIONAL (MAIN) MEANING
Get in touch with your deepest passions and instinct, so they can be channeled to benefit everyone.

The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.

The Devil card in this position challenges you to feel your desire, passion or attraction fully, but to unleash that powerful force only for the greatest good. Be in touch with your vital force, its passionate energy and urges, but don't lose your head.

These powerfully transformative times demand that we learn to handle unpredictable and unimagined experiences with poise. That can't be done if you fall into judgment, unbridled lust or any other form of emotional or physical addiction. If you can participate in this arousing situation without completely losing your composure, you will be of great value to your friends, family and community. You have some powerful energy within you. Let it express, but channel that expression for good.

GENERAL MEANING
What has traditionally been known as the Devil card expresses the realm of the Taboo, the culturally rejected wildness and undigested shadow side that each of us carries in our subconscious. This shadow is actually at the core of our being, which we cannot get rid of and will never succeed in taming. From its earliest versions, which portrayed a vampire-demon, this card evoked the Church-fueled fear that a person could "lose their soul" to wild and passionate forces.

The image which emerged in the mid-1700's gives us a more sophisticated rendition -- that of the "scapegoated Goddess," whose esoteric name is Baphomet. Volcanic reserves of passion and primal desire empower her efforts to overcome the pressure of stereotyped roles and experience true freedom of soul. Tavaglione's highly evolved image (Stella deck) portrays the magical formula for harnessing and transmuting primal and obsessive emotions into transformative energies. As a part of the Gnostic message of Tarot, this fearsome passion and power must be reintegrated into the personality, to fuel the soul's passage from mortal to immortal.

MEANING of POSITION
The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.

The Challenges/Opportunities position helps you get the best out of your situation. It reflects the cutting edge in the situation, the learning curve whereby you can turn adversity into accomplishment -- using creativity and a positive attitude.

This card can point to recurring themes in the challenges you have faced in your life -- and to opportunities that may yet present themselves. Can you think of any patterns which are returning to affect you now? If so, try to recall how you have reacted in the past. Perhaps you can see new potentials, while noticing the hidden pitfalls too. Can you imagine a different way of responding to the situation this time around?

The wisdom of this card can help you turn surprises into strengths, blind spots into windows of opportunity. Bring creativity and flexibility to the way you go about your way in the world. Your expanding capacity will become an asset and source of inspiration to all.

Lavinia's Personal Hexagram:

51: Shock

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Hexagram 51

General Meaning: One hears thunder unexpectedly! First comes fear, then a sharpening of one's vision. Recall a close brush with danger — a falling branch, an automobile accident barely avoided, an escape from a potentially violent confrontation. Such incidents arouse every nerve fiber in your body in a brief wave of terror, but soon, once the danger has passed, give way to a heightened awareness of the world. The same process also occurs with other types of shock — the loss of a job, the sudden departure of a loved one, business failure and so on.

The lasting impact of a major shock can either be stimulating or debilitating, depending upon one's strength of character. The critical factor is the ability to shake off fear, thereby transforming anxiety into a laser-sharp perception of the world around you.

When overtaken by crisis, the wise search their hearts for inner strengths in order to face their life with courage. This often means daring to take an unexpected path — to bounce back quickly and self-confidently after failures, to have faith in the eternal when confronted with death.

We tend to think of shock only in the context of unpleasant events. We can also be jarred, however, by the sudden release of tension that comes with unexpected joy or success. To keep your bearings in the aftershock of either trauma or victory, it is essential that your inner compass be aligned with 'true north', that magnetic force which guides you toward fulfillment of both your deepest desire, and your highest destiny.

ps. to separate for good from your beloved one, after 12 years.. is really a shock.. ......

John

I'm thinking of you even when I do not
Longing for you while you are so far away
I know you will be back, this is all so good for you
I know

You have new friends new home new life new experiences
You learn so much every day I know that all

But I miss you
is it that I really shouldn't?

This past month was like six months for me,
Next five may be like five years, I guess?

I would love to prepare myself for you
For our encounter there in the future
I'd love to be the best I can by then
Perhaps this is all good for me too?

But how I'd love to feel your lips once again
Would love to be embraced by you once again
Would love to laugh with you as before once again

But I ... I will let go..?

They say what love is great that was easy

But should I try to embrace this moment
and this very moment only..
when the pain that I feel caused by our separation
is just too strong and in a way unhand-able for me...
